............ ............Chinese Pharmaceutical Association(CPA) is the national organization of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists with the mission to represent and serve pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences development in China. CPA was founded in 1907, until now CPA has nearly 3000 senior individual members and 35 group members. Through its group members, CPA connects, representsand serves more 105,000 pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists around the state. ............The highest authority of CPA is the National Congress held every 5 years. CPA is governed by a Council of 137 members elected by the National Congress. The Council elects a Board of 37 members with the term of 5 years. The Council Meeting held once a year and the Board Meeting held at least twice a year. Steered by the Board Meeting, there are six functional committees of Academic Affairs, Organization Management, Development of Science and Technology, Financial and Funds Management, International Affairs, Editing and Publishing, Continue Education, and the fifteen professional committees of Traditional Chinese and Natural Medicine, Pharmaceutics, Antibiotics, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, History of Pharmacy, Biochemical, Pharmaceutical Engineering, Hospital Pharmacy, Marine Pharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical Administration, Military Pharmacy, etc. Nineteen academic periodicals are managed by CPA including the Chinese Pharmaceutical Journal (semimonthly), Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica (monthly), Chinese Journal of Chinese Materia Medica (monthly), Chinese Journal of Hospital Pharmacy (monthly), Pharmaceutical Biotechnology(bimonthly), Chinese Journal of Pharmacoepidemiology (bimonthly), etc. CPA organizes many symposiums and social events each year, among which the two biggest are the National Pharmaceutial Congress and the Pharmacist Week, each has participants of about 1500. The eadquarter of CPA is located in Beijing and the secretariat office deals with daily work. ............During the first week of September, 2007, just about one year before the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences World Congress & the 67th International Congress of FIP hosted by FIP and CPA will be held in the beautiful season of autumn in Beijing, At that time thousands participants will gather in Beijing, discussing the hot topics in the field of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. The congress is surely to effectively promote international pharmaceutical communication and cooperation, and will be a good opportunity for the pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists all over the world to see the pharmaceutical development in China as well. ...........In 2007, CPA will celebrate its 100 years anniversary of foundation to fully review her brilliant history. CPA has always been dedicating to the development of Chinese pharmaceutical, so CPA will hold a 100 year anniversary celebration, to summarize experience inherit the past and forge ahead into the future. On the occasion, CPA will invite State Leaders, famous pharmaceutical scientists and scholars to get together with our global friends in the festival.
